I guess, most C64 software are used with emulators today, since the real C64 computers got broke in time in many cases. For usage with Pentium II and faster, I recommend a cycle exact emulator, in order to avoid time critical problems. As there are CCS64 (DOS- and DirectX version), VICE (DOS, Windows, Acorn, OS/2, BeOS) and Power64 (Macintosh) emulating cycle exact. Different emulators only usefull for slower machines today. (Though they run fine with Boulder Dash, many other software cause trouble with those old emulators.) For different systems, I don't know such cycle exact emulators at the moment. In case you still have a working C64 you may want transfer disk images directly from the PC to a disk inserted in a 1541 drive via an X1541 cable.

Many games often crashed or didn't even start at all now fixed by me. That also apply to "sleeping Rockfords" and nasty freeze modul back ups. You can download these improved versions here. In order to keep the original appearance as much as possible, the original intros are still there in most cases, sometimes mentioning obsolete instructions such as "press enter before you select a cave!" etc.. Have a lot of fun with all these games, cirtainly containing some you don't know yet. In case there are still bugs (e.g. broken caves), just mail me the exact position and I'll try to fix them. The Rockford Magazin was released in German language on C64 disks. Though it wrote a bit about other platforms as well. On the Rockford FD series can be found Boulder Dash games and tool beside the Rockford Magazin and other non related Boulder Dash shareware and freeware. This series has its roots in the Boulder-Dash-Forever-Fan-Club founded by Alex Zop. (Adress can be found in the Mag. No URL is known. An e-mail link can be found in my guest book.)
